Food and Nutrition Services
At the Roaring Fork Schools, we work hard to uphold the department's motto: "Nutrition is our Mission." We support student achievement by not only offering nutritious meals, but also by promoting overall wellness through breakfast programs, nutrition education opportunities, and connecting students to their food through Farm to School and School Garden programs.
Summer Food Program: Bigger, Better, and Longer! ☀️
Our Summer Food Program provides "bulk meal packs" to ensure students have access to nutritious food while school is out. Each pack contains a variety of healthy items to support families during the summer months.
Who is Eligible?
- All Households: This is not an income-based program.
- Age: Any household with children 18 years old or younger is eligible to participate.
- Summer Advantage Students: New this year—students enrolled in the Summer Advantage program are now eligible to receive bulk meal packs.
When and Where to Pick Up
To make it easier for families, pickup times are now from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- Tuesdays: Basalt Middle School (BMS)
- Wednesdays: Glenwood Springs High School (GSHS)
- Thursdays: Carbondale Middle School (CMS)
The program has been extended! It will run from June 16th through August 6th, providing three additional weeks of food security compared to previous years.
