At the Roaring Fork School District, the privacy and security of our students' personal information is a top priority. We adhere to strict data protection protocols and comply with all applicable privacy laws to ensure your child's information is handled responsibly and kept confidential. Such laws include the:

- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
How RFSD uses student data
We use student data in various ways to enhance education, such as supporting student learning, evaluating teachers, refining our instructional and operational strategies, and meeting state and federal requirements. Some student personal information is shared with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Those data elements can be found on the CDE Ed Data Portal.
In addition to the data collected by the CDE, Roaring Fork School District collects and maintains the following on its data systems: Student Data Collected by RFSD.

Data Sharing

Notice to Providers
In accordance with the Colorado Student Data Transparency and Security Act, C.R.S. Section 22-16-101 et seq., be advised that if the Roaring Fork School District ceases using or refuses to use a School Service On-Demand Provider pursuant to C.R.S. 22-16-107 (3) (c), Roaring Fork School District shall post on its website the name of the On-Demand provider, with any written response that the on-Demand Provider may submit, and will notify the Colorado Department of Education, which will post on its website the On-Demand Provider’s name and any written response.
